DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 934 begins at a junction with US 61 in the City of Burlington and proceeds northwesterly to another junction with US 61 approximately one mile northwest of the City of Burlington.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑934‑0 (1)‑‑2M‑29, between the City of Burlington and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 934 from a junction with US 61 to the north corporation line to city jurisdiction on August 11, 1980.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑934‑0 (2)‑‑2M‑29, between Des Moines County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 934 from the north corporation line of the City of Burlington north to a junction with US 61 approximately 1250 feet north and 650 feet east of the S ¼ Corner of Section 24‑T70N‑R3W to county jurisdiction on August 11, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Unsigned Iowa 934 in Des Moines County from the primary road system.

Remove Unsigned Iowa 934 in Des Moines County as follows:

Burlington:

Beginning at the junction of US 61; thence westerly to the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the west corporation line of the City of Burlington connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northerly and easterly direction through Sections 25 and 24-T70N‑R3W to a point approximately 1250 feet north and 650 feet east of the S ¼ Corner of Section 24‑T70N‑R3W (junction of US 61).

Due to the relocation of US 61 at the north edge of Burlington in Des Moines County, Unsigned Iowa 934 has been created and its description should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Unsigned Iowa 934 begins at the junction of US 61 in the north edge of Burlington, Iowa and travels northwesterly and easterly terminating at another junction with US 61 approximately 1 mile north of Burlington, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Unsigned Iowa 934 in Des Moines County as follows:

Burlington:

Beginning at the junction of US 61; thence westerly to the west corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the west corporation line of the City of Burlington connecting with an unnamed street thence in a northerly and easterly direction through Sections 25 and 24‑T70N‑R3W to a point approximately 1250 feet north and 650 feet east of the S ¼ Corner of Section 24‑T70N‑R3W (junction of US 61).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 934 in Des Moines County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
